  1. Delphic was the first fraternity at SUNY Cortland (dating back to the Young Men's Debating Club founded in 1842).


  1. Delphic was the first fraternity at SUNY Geneseo (1871), SUNY Oneonta (1889), Mansfield University in Pennsylvania (1898), SUNY Plattsburgh (1900), and SUNY Potsdam (1906).


  1. Delphic was the first fraternity at SUNY New Paltz (founded as Alpha Pi Nu in 1889).


  1. Delphic was the first fraternity based in Jamaica, New York (founded at the Jamaica Normal School in 1897/1898).

Delphic Fraternity - Gamma Sigma Tau


The organization stands as one of the nation’s oldest independent fraternities and proudly holds the distinction of being the first official multicultural fraternity established on the East Coast of the United States. It is dedicated to fostering self-awareness and personal growth among its members, grounded in the principle of the Delphic maxim "know thyself," while empowering brothers to excel academically, cultivate professional excellence, and develop strong and resilient characters.
